Davies Back On Track At Walter Hayes Trophy - 4 November 2009
Mark Davies was back in competitive form at the Walter Hayes Trophy last weekend...

Banbury racer Mark Davies was back behind the wheel of a Formula Ford at the Walter Hayes Trophy last weekend. Davies was hospitalised during the 2007 WHT after being hit by another car and his 2009 return was his first race back behind the wheel. Davies made best use of the opportunity to test at the Silverstone circuit on the Thurday and Friday prior to the meeting and set some very competitive times in his new Weir Laundry backed Mygale. The Mygale is quite a departure from his previous car but Mark quickly settled in and posted some very encouraging testing times.

Qualifying on Saturday was wet, the first wet running that Mark had encountered behind the wheel of the Mygale but he quickly adapted, found the 'wet' lines around Silverstone and qualified well. A dry heat followed and a good race saw Mark straight through to the Semi finals.

Unfortunately an incident in the semi final saw Mark eliminated but the PA Team have been very encouraged by both Marks' performance after a long lay off and the newly built Mygale which has been considerably modified from the original.
