Burke Dominates First Round

 

Darren Burke took his K&N Filters / PA Motorsport Macon MR8 to a convincing win in yesterdays HSCC Historic Formula Ford Championship opening race at Silverstone. The PA Team had added over 12kg of ballast to the car to adhere to the latest Championship regulations of a combined car and driver limit of 500Kg. Despite this Burke smashed his own lap record by over 3 tenths….After taking pole position with a time of 64.824 seconds, some 6 tenths clear of the Merlyn of Simon Hadfield, Burke then went on to an untroubled win in the race setting a new lap record of 64.619 along the way. Burke was over a second faster in his PA Motorsport Macon than the next fastest lap and ended up winning by a margin of 26.199 seconds!
