Dominator Burke Leaves Rivals Breathless

PA Motorsport Macon driver Darren Burke gave yet another dominating performance at Snetterton on Sunday. Burke, who has won all of the previous Historic Formula Ford races so far this season, made it 5 wins from 5 after taking both double header races at Snetterton by a comfortable margin. As well as winning each race Burke has had pole position on every occasion he has raced the Macon so far and has not been led all season. In race two at Snetterton Burkes winning margin was some 25 seconds ahead of last seasons Champion and a former F1 driver! His fastest race lap was 1.6 seconds fastest than the next fastest.

Team boss Peter Alexander said, “Darren is absolutely faultless in the car. I put a lot of effort into my cars and it is so rewarding to see what Darren can do in the Macon. We had three starts at Snetterton due to race 1 being red flagged and on each occasion Darrens starts were perfect. He was coming round on the first lap with something like a 3.5 second lead!”

Burkes’ next race will be at Mallory Park which is now scheduled to be a double header. The first race will count for Championship points with a second race ‘just for fun’. Burke has never driven the car at Mallory before and will not test in an effort to save some of his meagre budget. Alexander said, “Although we are not testing with Darren I am confident I can get the car right, I know what he likes in a car and equally he will probably only need three laps or so to figure the circuit out.”
