Burke Takes 8th Consecutive Win At Brands - 7 July 2010

Darren Burke took his 8^th consecutive race win of 2010 at Brands Hatch on Sunday. Burke, who has not been led all season so far, also lowered his own lap record by another half a second on the Brands Hatch GP circuit leaving the record standing at 1.38.541.

 

The K&N Filters backed PA Motorsport run Macon MR8 has so far been unstoppable, often at circuits where Burke has not raced before. At the previous round at Mallory Park Burke had never driven the car around Mallory prior to qualifying. The PA Team elected not to test as they were busy re-assembling the engine and gearbox following an inspection by the MSA. Both engine and gearbox were found to be perfectly legal and Burke responded by winning twice and taking the lap record at Mallory in the re-assembled car!

 

Burke now leads the Championship by an astonishing 71 points from Ben Sims’ Alexis and ex F1 driver Ian Ashley’s Lola. The next round of the Historic Formula Ford Championship is at Castle Combe on 1^st August
